10 Tips For Having A Happy First College Year

Going to college for the first time? Feeling anxious, fearful, confused about how to have a great year? Willing to follow a simple winning, first-college-year strategy? Successfully breeze through your first college year by assuming and mentally rehearsing that only success awaits you.
Your brain contains the equivalent of 4 living computer software programs. Because of these 4 unique brain views or languages, you can actually think and then act like 4 different people. So, when you decide about a situation, you have available to you a great thinking team all in your own head.
To experience an amazing, fun, successful first college year experience, ASSUME everything will be great! Thinking about college life in your preferred way, you consciously CHOOSE to live life prosperously. Use the following tips to enjoy your first year:
1-Assume you will meet friendly, honest, wonderful new people. Your brain acts like a radio transmitter and receiver. When you think, you attract people who think the same way you do. So, assume you will attract like-minded people and you will.
2-Sit down and write out what first college year goals you desire to achieve. Write down on paper your ideas. Doing this, you consciously send messages about your goals to both brain hemispheres improving message comprehension. You also create a road map to follow for successful first year college life.
3-Relax and act like your true self. When you relax and act like yourself, you genuinely enjoy what you’re doing. Other genuine, secure, confident acting people see that and feel attracted to you. Act like yourself and make life successes effortless for you.
4-Focus on HOW you’d like to achieve your first college year goals. Would you like to effortlessly, pleasantly, enjoyably achieve your first college year goals? Mentally review a past, successfully achieved goal feeling these encouraging feelings. Imagine that you can achieve this next goal using the same feelings you felt in past successes (because you can!) Then FEEL those feelings in your mind and mentally rehearse goal achievement this time while feeling the past encouraging feelings.
5-Use your brain’s 4, unique brain views for life success. Ask yourself 4 viewpoint questions about 1)efficiently completing first college year tasks, 2)feeling specific, personally meaningful feelings about success-oriented, first college year goal achievement, 3)personal entertainment value while doing this task and 4)accuracy regarding your goals. For example, knowing college can be costly to your parents, suppose you desire to minimize college costs. Ask yourself, 1)“What can I do to efficiently produce my desired academic results during my first college year?”, 2)”What can I do to feel happy about going to college this first year AND act considerate to my parent’s finances?” 3)”What can I do to enjoy my classes and get good grades?” 4)”What can I do to do the college thing right the first time out?”
6-As appropriate, write out your answers to the asked questions in item #5. We use written out goal achievement plans like a roadmap. The brain sees the written ideas on paper and uses them as motivation instructions for goal completion. Then, your brain feels a sense of control seeing individual tasks described on paper that will result in goal completion. Knowing and seeing progress, the brain can relax so you actually move forward toward goal achievement.
7-If necessary, ask for help. In the business world, people routinely consult with obvious experts when “stuck” for a complete, effective answer. No one can know all information for all situations. So, consulting with someone, a parent, teacher or academic advisor when necessary, shows effective time and resource management.
8-ASSUME you ARE already successfully achieving your goals. Establish reasonable standards for yourself. Act responsible for your own successes. When you think in “possibility” terms, you effortlessly excel. Assume you already are doing your best AND that your best efforts are good enough for you. Think optimistically and relax knowing you CAN achieve your goals.
9-If you hear jealous criticism, b-r-e-a-t-h-e. By design, one of your brain quadrants naturally analyzes situations. Hearing criticism, your brain is telling you to “do things right.” Since “right” can be subjectively defined, ask yourself a progressive, optimistic question about a solution. “Well, I COULD criticize my best efforts. But what could I think instead to actually improve the situation?” To hear an encouraging, uplifting podcast about the fabulous you, please visit my site at www.clickcaster.com/hypnoticbraintalk. Happy First Year College Experience
Susan Fox, a brain dialog researcher and Master Hypnotist, who lives in Fredericktown, Ohio, is conducting a FREE teleseminar for first year college students to help brainstorm ways to enjoy their first college experience.
Ramping up for the upcoming World Hypnotism Day celebration, January 4, 2008, she is giving this FREE teleseminar presentation open to college students and parents on September 27, 2007 at 7pm.
“Many undergraduates feel excited, confused and uncertain about this new experience. Almost anytime we express a strong emotion, like excitement, confusion or uncertainty, we also create a hypnotic mind state. After we hypnotize ourselves, we then suggest an idea to believe. Creating a success strategy, college students can suggest and believe ideas to increase the possibilities of an enjoyable college experience.”
Mrs. Fox is an internationally known, accomplished and highly respected brain dialog researcher, hypnotic consultant, trainer and writer. She received a certification in hypnotherapy at the Hypnotism Training Institute of Los Angeles, California in 1988 and has been practicing nationwide ever since.
Using her unique, brain research program she developed called Hypnotic Brain Dialog found in her book called Brainview: What Does Your Brain Think Of You, clients learn how to think and speak the brain’s 4 languages to quickly resolve mental conflict. Her program teaches people how to think and talk in success-oriented attitudes using each of the brain’s four views. As a result, people experience academic, personal and business relationship improvement.
“It’s a way people can learn how to take control and maximize life success,” Mrs. Fox explains. “In training classes, using specific brain dialog and hypnosis, a person can learn how to think in self-empowering ways to achieve desired goals like a happy first college year.”
People unsure of their natural talents and abilities, unsure of their academic likes and dislikes and uncertain about how to focus, concentrate and follow through on tasks feel particularly benefited using Hypnotic Brain Dialog. Hypnotic Brain Dialog helps people understand how and why they think the way they do AND how to maximize flexible, self-reliant thinking.
Teleseminar attendance is limited and is available on a first come, first serve basis. To attend this seminar on September 27, 2007, 7pm Eastern Standard Time, call (605) 990-0200. Enter the access code 1086609 and the (pound) symbol (#).
For customized workshops, public appearances or to learn how you can purchase your copy of Brainview: What Does Your Brain Think Of You, for $34 (which covers postage), leave a message 24-hours a day for Susan at (740) 399-9333. She will call you back. Or, e-mail her at hypnoticbraintalk@gmail.com.

Think, Then Feel Happy
Here's how the human being operates. We think using the mind. Then, magically somehow, we use that thought in the brain and interpret the thought. We use that interpreted thought to feel feelings and/or imagine what we can experience this day. That's it. Simple, huh?
So, think, IMAGINE feeling happy, then, feel happy. Focus on doing this one thing today and write me and tell me what great thing you made happen for yourself today. Really. This can be one of your day's experiments.
I look forward and feel eager to hear from you at hypnoticbraintalk@gmail.com.
Love,
Susan

Sleep While Someone Else Snores
Got Sleep?
Been to those snoring sites looking for a way to sleep while your hubby snores? Or maybe your DOG snores and is keeping you awake? Or maybe your child snores and keeps the family awake? Well, if YOU are a non-snorer and you want to sleep, here are some ideas that can help.
First of all, snoring, in a lot of cases is considered a medical disorder. Or, if your child snores, he or she could have been misdiagnosed with ADD but really has sleep apnea. So, if YOU (or your child) snores, you might want to go to a medical doctor first before you try anything over the counter. You (or your little lamby-pies) could be suffering from sleep apnea. That could mean heart problems or something worse. So, if you are the one who snores, go to your doc and ask for a check up.
BUT, if you are simply FEELING ANNOYED by HEARING the sound, there is great help available. I created the program for me when I first married my keeper husband. (Yes, I did have a practice husband but I have no idea where he is.) Anyway, my honey-bunny US Marine husband used to snore so loudly, I couldn't sleep for 8 YEARS! I felt miserable. I stopped sleeping in the same bed with him which was even worser! So, I thought, "I'm done with this nonsense." And I started to research all about snoring. I spent probably 200 hours researching about how those affected by the SOUND could get help. No one had created a program, so I did.
See, here's what's happening when you stay awake as someone else snores. You hear the sound, then you tell yourself to believe the invisible SOUND somehow has power over you. If you don't understand how the mind and brain work, here's a little science lesson.
Almost every time humans express strong emotion, they also hypnotize themselves. We NATURALLY do it. If we didn't we would be unable to store any ideas in our memory. We would ALSO be unable to access already stored memory. So anyway, what happens is that when we deny ourselves sleep and SAY that a snoring sound suddenly has power over our ability to think and interpret using our mind and brain, we are fooling ourselves into believing that idea. Our PERCEPTION that a SOUND is like a PERSON who has some physical power over us is ridiculous. YOU are the boss of your body. No other human or dog or whatever can think a thoughtin his/ her or it’s mind and use your mind or brain to interpret his opinion. That would be like trying to color your hair only using your husband’s interpretation about it. That's ridikilus.
Anyway, if you can relax and tell yourself that the snoring sound no longer means your husband (or your dog or whatever) is MAKING YOU stay awake and annoying you, THEN you'll be able to sleep. So, try this idea and see if you can help yourself sleep. If this doesn't work, you can always get my CD AND a 90+ page e-book that comes with it by going to www.professionalstressmanagement.com. On the front page, down on the left side check out Sleep While Someone Else Snores. They'll mail it right out to you.
In the meantime, here's a sample script for you to use to see if you can try and sleep without using the 15-minute training CD:
Lay down in the bed next to your snoring hunk of masculinity. (If it's your dog, what is your snoring dog doing on your bed anyway?)
Relax your body. Inhale and exhale 10 times and just keep telling yourself to FEEL relaxed. Feel like your body is sinking comfortably into your bed. Then say to yourself each time you hear a snoring sound, "The snoring sound is a signal to me that someone I dearly love is sleeping. That is just his way of sleeping. He is silently telling me he is here next to me. He loves me and I love him. I feel calm, relaxed, and loved hearing this signal that he loves me." Keep relaxing until you go to sleep. If you awaken, just repeat this exercise.
Hey, I'd like to know how you're doing. Won't you please e-mail me at hypnoticbraintalk@gmail and let me know what's improved?
Until the next time,
