Got Sleep?
Been to those snoring sites looking for a way to sleep while your hubby snores? Or maybe your DOG snores and is keeping you awake? Or maybe your child snores and keeps the family awake? Well, if YOU are a non-snorer and you want to sleep, here are some ideas that can help.
First of all, snoring, in a lot of cases is considered a medical disorder. Or, if your child snores, he or she could have been misdiagnosed with ADD but really has sleep apnea. So, if YOU (or your child) snores, you might want to go to a medical doctor first before you try anything over the counter. You (or your little lamby-pies) could be suffering from sleep apnea. That could mean heart problems or something worse. So, if you are the one who snores, go to your doc and ask for a check up.
BUT, if you are simply FEELING ANNOYED by HEARING the sound, there is great help available. I created the program for me when I first married my keeper husband. (Yes, I did have a practice husband but I have no idea where he is.) Anyway, my honey-bunny US Marine husband used to snore so loudly, I couldn't sleep for 8 YEARS! I felt miserable. I stopped sleeping in the same bed with him which was even worser! So, I thought, "I'm done with this nonsense." And I started to research all about snoring. I spent probably 200 hours researching about how those affected by the SOUND could get help. No one had created a program, so I did.
See, here's what's happening when you stay awake as someone else snores. You hear the sound, then you tell yourself to believe the invisible SOUND somehow has power over you. If you don't understand how the mind and brain work, here's a little science lesson.
Almost every time humans express strong emotion, they also hypnotize themselves. We NATURALLY do it. If we didn't we would be unable to store any ideas in our memory. We would ALSO be unable to access already stored memory. So anyway, what happens is that when we deny ourselves sleep and SAY that a snoring sound suddenly has power over our ability to think and interpret using our mind and brain, we are fooling ourselves into believing that idea. Our PERCEPTION that a SOUND is like a PERSON who has some physical power over us is ridiculous. YOU are the boss of your body. No other human or dog or whatever can think a thoughtin his/ her or it’s mind and use your mind or brain to interpret his opinion. That would be like trying to color your hair only using your husband’s interpretation about it. That's ridikilus.
Anyway, if you can relax and tell yourself that the snoring sound no longer means your husband (or your dog or whatever) is MAKING YOU stay awake and annoying you, THEN you'll be able to sleep. In the meantime, here's a sample script for you to use to see if you can try and sleep without using the 15-minute training CD:
Lay down in the bed next to your snoring hunk of masculinity. (If it's your dog, what is your snoring dog doing on your bed anyway?)
Relax your body. Inhale and exhale 10 times and just keep telling yourself to FEEL relaxed. Feel like your body is sinking comfortably into your bed. Then say to yourself each time you hear a snoring sound, "The snoring sound is a signal to me that someone I dearly love is sleeping. That is just his way of sleeping. He is silently telling me he is here next to me. He loves me and I love him. I feel calm, relaxed, and loved hearing this signal that he loves me." Keep relaxing until you go to sleep. If you awaken, just repeat this exercise.

IMAGINE A FABULOUS WORLD
Imagine a fabulous world where you feel important and significant to yourself no matter what innocent action you do. You can mentally live in this world when you focus on thinking thoughts that ONLY CREATIVELY encourage, support and uplift you to EFFORTLESSLY excel at virtually anything you PHYSICALLY do. How do you CREATE?
Creating is done by THEORIZING about (instead of criticisizing what you CAN'T do to achieve) a goal. When we think in theoretical ways, we are merely compiling details about a goal and thinking about how we CAN achieve a desired goal.
For example, suppose you would like to feel comfortable speaking in public. This is people's number one fear - the fear of speaking publicly. Ok. Now you know WHAT goal you'd prefer to achieve. What is ONE thought you can think or say out loud to yourself so you begin to do actions that result in your feeling calm while you speak publicly?
First, pretend that you are a future version of yourself remembering a time when you felt calm speaking publicly. Describe ONLY a mental picture of you feeling comfortable standing before an audience. Maybe the script would be something like this:
"I remember standing before the crowd. All eyes were on me. I looked at my notes and for an instant, I thought I should just remember that all these people were my friends. They want me to succeed. They like the idea of hearing information they can use to benefit themselves.
So, theory 1 is that everyone here PREFERS for me to say something interesting.
Theory 2 is that everyone here is my friend and friends support and accept each other. I choose to believe that everyone here is in a relationship with me. A long term relationship with me that is really a friendship.
Yes, they appreciate me and I appreciate me. It's all good.
How can I plan a comfortable feeling inside as I deliver my message? I know, I will simply single out one friend in the audience and talk directly to him or her. That's easy enough. Hey, this public speaking stuff is EASY for me. I can do this!"
And off you go, pretending that you've already successfully THEORIZED your way into feeling comfortable speaking in public. Wow! Great memory!
